The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Fyde-FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani Coelho came free, but Betão Donato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Dagoberto Palmeira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Betão Donato. Fyde-FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dagoberto Palmeira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After having played for 24 minutes, Sebastião Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fyde-FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastião Macedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cacá Salgado struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Zé Roberto Donatello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fyde-FC. After 27 minutes, Hernani Coelho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube Atlético Pr and the Fyde-FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 28th match minute, Clube Atlético Pr was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernani Coelho to maneuver through the defense. Adilson Dias struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Cacá Salgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Hernani Coelho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Betão Donato was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Betão Donato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Palmeira in the 43rd minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cacá Salgado to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Clube Atlético Pr's zone, Sebastião Macedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Roberto Donatello came out of the goal and Sebastião Macedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Diamantino Azevedo fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube Atlético Pr's protests and gave Diamantino Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th match minute, Clube Atlético Pr was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diamantino Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st minute Adilson Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Roberto Donatello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Roberto Donatello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cacá Salgado in the 93rd minute of play. Sebastião Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Zé Roberto Donatello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Fyde-FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
