Juninho Bastos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diogo do Valle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Luís Fabiano Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cássio Santana got free with Luís Fabiano Guedes in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carlos Alberto Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Juarês Mello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. After 38 played minutes Lentilha FC got a freekick which was hit by Murilo Prata. If Eriberto Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Lentilha FC defense, Cássio Santana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Fabiano Guedes. The Lentilha FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Fabiano Guedes should have stopped the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eriberto Santana in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Fabiano Guedes saved Lentilha FC from getting behind. Cássio Santana struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Luís Fabiano Guedes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tricolor.
