Tricolor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Crobas FC the free kick. The supporters of Crobas FC booed when Tricolor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnaldo Messias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th minute Serginho Secco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diogo do Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tricolor's goalkeeper Diogo do Valle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eriberto Santana in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Willian Vale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cássio Santana struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Willian Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tricolor. After a defensive mix-up in Crobas FC's zone, Cássio Santana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Willian Vale came out of the goal and Cássio Santana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 39 minutes, Ronaldinho Capixaba mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tricolor and the Crobas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Váldson Alves scored 2-0 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diogo do Valle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eriberto Santana made a kick off. Eriberto Santana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Willian Vale having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serginho Secco in the 64th minute of play forced Tricolor's goalkeeper Diogo do Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
