In the 6th minute Agnaldo Vaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albertinho Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeremias Rosado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a left leg Nelson Sousa saved Itirussu FC from getting behind. 18 minutes into the match, Itirussu FC's goalkeeper Nelson Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felippe Baptista. Dedos Mágicos FC's Alfredão Messias got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Felippe Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dedos Mágicos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Felippe Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelson Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Felippe Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute Fábio do Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelson Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dedos Mágicos FC's Albertinho Branco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremias Rosado in the 31st minute of play. Itirussu FC's Nelson Sousa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Itirussu FC from getting a goal against them. Itirussu FC's Nelson Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beto Zonta in the 33rd minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Itirussu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Beto Zonta came free, but Nelson Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Beto Zonta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpected shot in the 46th minute by Felippe Baptista got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Nelson Sousa made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Alfredão Messias sent off a good shot on target. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jeremias Rosado was the one to do the kick off. Alfredão Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Alfredão Messias came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Dedos Mágicos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredão Messias couldn't finish the play. 60 minutes into the game, Dedos Mágicos FC's Fábio do Valle nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nelson Sousa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Nelson Sousa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Beto Zonta went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Jeremias Rosado hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Itirussu FC's Nelson Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felippe Baptista in the 70th minute of play. After 77 minutes, Amílton Massa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itirussu FC and the Dedos Mágicos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Dedos Mágicos FC booed when Itirussu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amílton Massa didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Felippe Baptista, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 80 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Nelson Sousa was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Beto Zonta in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nelson Sousa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Itirussu FC's Nelson Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio do Valle in the 91st minute of play. Jeremias Rosado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Albertinho Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
