Spectators: 6656 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tostão Cosme started the match with the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Marcos Arruda kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gino Mota. That made the score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. A collision led to Curva de Rio getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Tiago Santos hit a great ball. In the 16th minute Tostão Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romeu Velasco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tostão Cosme's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Agostinho Faria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 24 minutes, Tostão Cosme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brancos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tostão Cosme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Agostinho Faria struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Romeu Velasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brancos FC. In the 31st minute Tostão Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romeu Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tostão Cosme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 42 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Tostão Cosme sped through Curva de Rio's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Romeu Velasco.

Romeu Velasco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agostinho Faria in the 56th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Curva de Rio's zone, Agostinho Faria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romeu Velasco came out of the goal and Agostinho Faria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tostão Cosme in the 62nd minute of play forced Curva de Rio's goalkeeper Romeu Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agostinho Faria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Romeu Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Brancos FC booed when Curva de Rio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles Rosado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Curva de Rio's Romeu Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Mendonça in the 66th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Curva de Rio's goalkeeper Romeu Velasco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agostinho Faria. Brancos FC's Gino Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Arruda in the 69th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agostinho Faria got free with Romeu Velasco in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Agostinho Faria's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romeu Velasco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Curva de Rio's zone, Agostinho Faria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romeu Velasco came out of the goal and Agostinho Faria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brancos FC's Samuel Valadares got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Tostão Cosme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Brancos FC played a much better game than Curva de Rio and deserved their victory. The Curva de Rio players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
