When Hélder Hoffmann came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Expresso Antares FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hélder Hoffmann couldn't finish the play. An unexpected shot in the 23rd minute by Jano Medeiros got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Curva de Rio's Romeu Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizão Bezerra in the 27th minute of play. Hélder Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luizão Bezerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Curva de Rio defense, Hélder Hoffmann kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Romeu Velasco. The Curva de Rio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Romeu Velasco should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Hélder Hoffmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Expresso Antares FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hélder Hoffmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romeu Velasco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 48th minute Marcos Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amílton Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Expresso Antares FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcos Arruda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hélder Hoffmann did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-4 to the left of a surprised Romeu Velasco 86 minutes into the match. 91 minutes into the match, Hélder Hoffmann dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Romeu Velasco, 0-5. Romeu Velasco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hélder Hoffmann's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. Amílton Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Arruda in the 97th minute of the match. Expresso Antares FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
