The referee ignored Goiania FC's protests and gave Luisinho Sousa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 3rd minute, one of Goiania FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Goiania FC. Cássio Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Décio Esteves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Bittencourt in the 10th minute of play. After 17 minutes, Marco Bittencourt made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Favela SC's Décio Esteves tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dênis Mineiro during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Goiania FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Dênis Mineiro hit a great ball. Enrique do Valle hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Marco Bittencourt, 26 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Décio Esteves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cássio Cunha's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Cássio Cunha sped through Favela SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Décio Esteves. Marco Bittencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Décio Esteves having to interfere. The Goiania FC fans' excitement grew in the 34th match minute when Goiania FC's Cássio Cunha looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 42ndth minute of the game Cássio Cunha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Favela SC's Décio Esteves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Enrique Bezerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 43rd minute Christian Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Bittencourt took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Décio Esteves. Décio Esteves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. The Favela SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Goiania FC were winning 1-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christian Rocha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Favela SC's goalkeeper Décio Esteves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Marco Bittencourt came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Goiania FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Bittencourt couldn't finish the play. If Marco Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute of the match Ramiro Paranaense shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Décio Esteves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 74th minute, Marco Bittencourt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Marco Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Cássio Cunha put it in 1-5 from a short distance just to the right of Décio Esteves. Cássio Cunha got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 1-6 in the right cross in the 82nd match minute before Décio Esteves had time to react. Décio Esteves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cássio Cunha's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Cássio Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Décio Esteves having to interfere.
