The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorival Pinheiro in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudinho de Medeiros saved Iracema FC from getting behind. In the 21st minute, Celso Rosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 39thth minute of the game Dorival Pinheiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iracema FC's Claudinho de Medeiros was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 41 played minutes Novo Hamburgo got a freekick which was hit by Dorival Pinheiro. Miguel Toledo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 42 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the game, one of Novo Hamburgo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 45th minute there was a penalty for Iracema FC. Nilton Rodrigues stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jan Pająk. 0-2. After the first half Iracema FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Celso Rosa made the kick off in the second half. Durvalino Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho de Medeiros having to interfere. Cristian Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Rosa in the 68th minute of play forced Iracema FC's goalkeeper Claudinho de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
