But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabrício Linhares couldn't finish the play. Betinho Schmidt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Ramos in the 44th minute.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dênis Paes was the one to do the kick off. In the 84th minute, Arary SS's Fabrício Linhares ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcus de Queiroz. Marcus de Queiroz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Arary SS's goalkeeper Betinho Schmidt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Pepito F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Arary SS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
