Michel de Sousa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tarcisio Montenegro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. In the 12th minute Vitinho Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gil Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitinho Pernambucano in the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th minute of the match Elder Monteiro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gil Rocha showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When The Demons's Virgílio Lira in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Salinas Náutico Clube's goalie prevented a goal. Salinas Náutico Clube's Gil Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitinho Pernambucano in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliézer Rossi in the 34th minute of play forced The Demons's goalkeeper Tarcisio Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Salinas Náutico Clube booed when The Demons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dino Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, one of Salinas Náutico Clube:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Salinas Náutico Clube. The referee gave The Demons a penalty, 40 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dino Dias, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Salinas Náutico Clube's Gil Rocha. 0-3. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Michel de Sousa put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Tarcisio Montenegro. After the first half The Demons were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Virgílio Lira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Gil Rocha made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonel Torres during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gil Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitinho Pernambucano in the 60th minute of play. Vitinho Pernambucano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gil Rocha was a little too slow when Vitinho Pernambucano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 1-4. In the 66th minute of the match Mazinho Pinho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gil Rocha skillfully saved the ball. Gil Rocha didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when The Demons's Vitinho Pernambucano shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-5 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 82nd minute Eliézer Rossi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarcisio Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 83 minutes, Michel de Sousa made it 2-5 with a short kick to the right side. The Demons's Tarcisio Montenegro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Salinas Náutico Clube getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Luís Guilherme Toscano hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Vitinho Pernambucano took a quick shot and it went in 2-6 without a chance for Gil Rocha to make any attempt to save it. In the 98th minute, Reginaldo Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dino Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 99th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
