The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Dráuzio Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Interiorano Só Futebol's supporters rose to their feet, but Dráuzio Furtado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jânio Rossi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Voturantim's Jânio Rossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dráuzio Furtado in the 36th minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomé Salgado made a kick off. Voturantim's Tomé Salgado got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Voturantim's Jânio Rossi got control of the ball when Luís Fábio Pernambucano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jânio Rossi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but José Carlos Paranaense showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 93 minute of play.
