S.C Tangará's Tomé de Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Luizão Quirino came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Arariuna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luizão Quirino couldn't finish the play. S.C Tangará's Samuca Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino Cavalcante in the 25th minute of play. Luizão Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Dias having to interfere. But to his dismay, Rubinho Brasil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Rubinho Brasil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Carlos Luz having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Dino Cavalcante had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Samuca Dias. S.C Tangará's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dino Cavalcante was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Tomé de Azevedo made the kick off in the second half. Luizão Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Dias having to interfere. Samuca Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dino Cavalcante in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Delfim Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Arariuna's goalkeeper Zé Carlos Luz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. S.C Tangará's Rubinho Brasil got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
