After having played for 11 minutes, Manoel Tróia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Republica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manoel Tróia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benedito Neiva took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hortêncio Zonta. Hortêncio Zonta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Republica's Zé Paulo Torres proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Republica from getting a goal against them. Republica's Manoel Tróia got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé Paulo Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilson de Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Zé Paulo Torres made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Luisinho Brito sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manoel Tróia in the 28th minute of play forced Ilha de Corsega FC's goalkeeper Hortêncio Zonta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hortêncio Zonta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benedito Neiva went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Manoel Tróia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luisinho Brito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé Paulo Torres read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Luisinho Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Paulo Torres having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benedito Neiva to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, one of Republica:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Hortêncio Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedito Neiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ilha de Corsega FC's Hortêncio Zonta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Ilha de Corsega FC from getting a goal against them. Benedito Neiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Manoel Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 83 minutes, Edmílson Ferraz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Republica and the Ilha de Corsega FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hortêncio Zonta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedito Neiva in the 87th minute of the match. Hortêncio Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedito Neiva in the 88th minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Ilha de Corsega FC's Luisinho Brito sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zé Paulo Torres narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Júnior Barreto charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Júnior Barreto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Júnior Barreto kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luisinho Brito in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Paulo Torres prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 98th match minute, Republica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmílson Ferraz to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisinho Brito in the 100th minute of play forced Republica's goalkeeper Zé Paulo Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
