But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubinho Brasil couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the match, S.C Tangará's goal looked a bit too open when Niklas Österlund came free, but Samuca Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samuca Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niklas Österlund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rony de Senna got free with Samuca Dias in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 30 played minutes S.C Tangará got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Mandrak. In the 31st minute, Dorival Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. S.C Tangará were furious when Gerson Arruda was red carded, 33 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in S.C Tangará fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 32nd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Itamaraju a penalty, 34 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dorival Neves, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of S.C Tangará's Samuca Dias. 1-0. Niklas Österlund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Dias having to interfere. After 41 minutes, Chiquinho Romero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.C Tangará and the Itamaraju players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 48th minute, Niklas Österlund fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Itamaraju booed when S.C Tangará was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dário de Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Itamaraju's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Rubinho Brasil scored to the left of an out of position Naldo França, making the score, 2-1. If Niklas Österlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 65th minute of the match, Rubinho Brasil got a very nice opportunity to score, but Naldo França was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Niklas Österlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dorival Neves's late challenge caught a S.C Tangará's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dorival Neves helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of S.C Tangará booed when Itamaraju was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorival Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rubinho Brasil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Naldo França made a huge save. Samuca Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niklas Österlund in the 78th minute of the match. Samuca Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorival Neves in the 80th minute of play. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind S.C Tangará's goalkeeper Samuca Dias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rony de Senna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Samuca Dias having to make a save. Samuca Dias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Niklas Österlund's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. In the 94th minute Niklas Österlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuca Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute, Rony de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Itamaraju's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
