S.C Tangará's Rubinho Brasil came free and shot a quick shot against goal 8 minutes in the game, fortunately Narciso Sergipano had problems saving as it came toward the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Montevidio's zone, Rubinho Brasil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narciso Sergipano came out of the goal and Rubinho Brasil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evandro Albuquerque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 23 minutes, Chiquinho Romero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.C Tangará and the Montevidio players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 23rd match minute, S.C Tangará was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chiquinho Romero to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sílvio Luís de Mendonça in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Samuca Dias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 31 played minutes S.C Tangará got a freekick which was hit by José Carlos Andrade. Chiquinho Romero hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. 45 minutes into the match, S.C Tangará's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Luís de Mendonça came free, but Samuca Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 79th minute there was a penalty for S.C Tangará. José Carlos Andrade stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Narciso Sergipano. 1-1. Samuca Dias made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo Mesquita in the 85th minute. With a little luck, S.C Tangará's Samuca Dias got control of the ball when Paulo Mesquita tried to sneak it across the goal line. 89 minutes into the game, Rubinho Brasil cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Montevidio players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for S.C Tangará.
