The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 13th minute, Donato Macedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hortêncio Zonta was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a rather tough play, Torneiros EC's Donato Macedo got a free kick in the 15th minute. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Torneiros EC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Guilherme Gonçalves was slow to take the kick. During this time Ilha de Corsega FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Guilherme Gonçalves almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Torneiros EC's Diogo Silveira did a great save. When Donato Macedo came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Torneiros EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donato Macedo couldn't finish the play. Hortêncio Zonta came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Torneiros EC's Donato Macedo. But to his dismay, Donato Macedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. A collision led to Ilha de Corsega FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Elói Batista hit a great ball. Arthur Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wilson de Salles to strike the kick off in the second half. Donato Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arthur Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hortêncio Zonta having to interfere. Zé Roberto Loyola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Donato Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Hortêncio Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Ilha de Corsega FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arthur Duarte came free, but Hortêncio Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hortêncio Zonta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato Macedo in the 73rd minute of the match. If Luisinho Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Ilha de Corsega FC's Hortêncio Zonta got control of the ball when Arthur Duarte tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 80th minute Luisinho Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diogo Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomé Marques charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tomé Marques the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 81st match minute, Torneiros EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomé Marques to maneuver through the defense. Donato Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hortêncio Zonta having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Torneiros EC's Arthur Duarte sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hortêncio Zonta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Donato Macedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match was over Torneiros EC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ilha de Corsega FC throughout the match.
