Zé Carlos Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adhemar Rosado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arariuna's Zé Carlos Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adhemar Rosado in the 20th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Adhemar Rosado kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zé Carlos Luz. That made the score 2-0 in the 25 minute of play. Adhemar Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Carlos Luz having to interfere. Zé Carlos Luz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adhemar Rosado's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. When Anselmo Reis fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arariuna's protests and gave Anselmo Reis a yellow card for diving instead. After 34 played minutes Arariuna got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Reis. Zé Carlos Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adhemar Rosado, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. The supporters of Arariuna booed when BEST FABIO FUTEBOL CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adhemar Rosado didn't get a good kick on the ball. During the 40th minute of the match Anselmo Reis completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adhemar Rosado was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Arariuna defense, Zé Pedro Silveira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Carlos Luz. The Arariuna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Carlos Luz should have stopped the shot. Luizão Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute Adhemar Rosado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Carlos Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Flavinho Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deivid Guedes's late challenge caught a Arariuna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Pedro Silveira in the 74th minute of play forced Arariuna's goalkeeper Zé Carlos Luz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Adhemar Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Carlos Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adhemar Rosado in the 90th minute of the match.
