After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Waldemar Breckenfeld managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Piauiense's supporters rose to their feet, but Waldemar Breckenfeld was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vicente Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Carlos Campidelis in the 26th minute of play forced Pirapiringa EC's goalkeeper Vicente Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 28 minutes, José Carlos Campidelis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Piauiense's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Carlos Campidelis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pirapiringa EC's Vicente Mendes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Pirapiringa EC from getting a goal against them. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Carlos Campidelis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldemar Breckenfeld in the 52nd minute of play forced Pirapiringa EC's goalkeeper Vicente Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd minute, Pedro Paulo Bittencourt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pirapiringa EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Carlos Campidelis in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vicente Mendes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 68 minutes into the match, Atlético Piauiense's goalkeeper Angelo Pereira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Paulo Bittencourt. The supporters of Pirapiringa EC booed when Atlético Piauiense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position.
