Percival Capixaba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerson Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Percival Capixaba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerson Freitas in the 20th minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronaldo Paraense couldn't finish the play. In the 27th minute, one of Pilares:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pilares. Percival Capixaba went to the wrong direction when Sílvio Vaz was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Gerson Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Percival Capixaba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Pilares getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Rodrigo Velloso hit a great ball. If Ronaldo Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dagoberto Moreira to make the kick off. In the 56th minute, Gerson Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Pilares's Percival Capixaba got control of the ball when Ronaldo Paraense tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 66 played minutes, Pilares's Eliseu Porto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper João Francisco Cosme came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pilares reached it. After some careless play in the Pilares defense, Dino Recife kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Percival Capixaba. The Pilares fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Percival Capixaba should have stopped the shot. Vskg Capital Club's Gerson Freitas got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Pilares's zone, Ronaldo Paraense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Percival Capixaba came out of the goal and Ronaldo Paraense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dagoberto Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. João Francisco Cosme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Dino Recife hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronaldo Paraense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Percival Capixaba made a huge save. Deivid Pimenta took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Francisco Cosme. João Francisco Cosme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 90th minute, Tião Prata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gerson Freitas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Percival Capixaba having to make a save. Vskg Capital Club were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Pilares to leave the ground with a draw.
