José Carlos Campidelis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Francisco Cosme having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldemar Breckenfeld in the 19th minute of play forced Vskg Capital Club's goalkeeper João Francisco Cosme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Atlético Piauiense's goal looked a bit too open when Gerson Freitas came free, but Angelo Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vskg Capital Club's João Francisco Cosme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldemar Breckenfeld in the 22nd minute of play. After 24 played minutes Atlético Piauiense got a freekick which was hit by Oséias Guimarães. Angelo Pereira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronaldo Paraense in the 36th minute. In the 39th minute, Gerson Freitas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ronaldo Paraense scored 2-1 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Angelo Pereira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Atlético Piauiense players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
