Spectators: 7001 (Terracing: 5401, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jefferson Diniz started the match with the kick off. After 4 minutes, Ronaldo Salgado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pensamento and the Seraph players grew even worse after the yellow card. Victor Arantes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 5th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Jefferson Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jefferson Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Pensamento's Adilson da Cunha got control of the ball when Amílton Barbosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jefferson Diniz might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adilson da Cunha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jefferson Diniz ran back to his position shaking his head. Enrique Pinho hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Dedê Moraes charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dedê Moraes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pensamento fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Adilson da Cunha, was totally fooled by Seraph's Victor Arantes, who 27 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Adilson da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jefferson Diniz in the 31st minute of play. In the 37th minute, Vladimir Valadares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pensamento fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jefferson Diniz in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adilson da Cunha saved Pensamento from getting behind. If Jefferson Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vladimir Valadares made a kick off. In the 54th minute Amílton Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adilson da Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Pensamento's Vladimir Valadares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jailson Barral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Noel Nunes during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Seraph's Noel Nunes got a free kick in the 61st minute. Adilson da Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jefferson Diniz, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Amílton Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Adilson da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jefferson Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Amílton Barbosa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adilson da Cunha was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 83 minutes into the match, Seraph's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimir Valadares came free, but Jailson Barral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 87 played minutes Pensamento got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Pinho. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jefferson Diniz in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adilson da Cunha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amílton Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adilson da Cunha having to interfere.
