In the 9th minute, Deivid Pimenta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pilares fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 16 minutes into the match, Pilares's Deivid Pimenta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vicente Mendes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Pilares booed when Pirapiringa EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Loureiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Pedro Paulo Bittencourt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Percival Capixaba. Pilares's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pedro Paulo Bittencourt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 27th minute Dagoberto Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th match minute, Pirapiringa EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Silva to maneuver through the defense. After 30 minutes of play, Pilares's Deivid Pimenta made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vicente Mendes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Geovani Correia charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geovani Correia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Percival Capixaba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cleiton Paraense in the 36th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pilares's zone, Cleiton Paraense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Percival Capixaba came out of the goal and Cleiton Paraense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute, Jorginho Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Pilares's Eliseu Porto got a free kick in the 45th minute. Cleiton Paraense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cleiton Paraense made a kick off. After 63 minutes, Elano Pirani mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pirapiringa EC and the Pilares players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pirapiringa EC's Elano Pirani got a free kick in the 63rd minute. When Sandrinho Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Pilares fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandrinho Rocha couldn't finish the play. Vicente Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dagoberto Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 69 played minutes, Pilares's Sandrinho Rocha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vicente Mendes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pilares reached it. Vicente Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Moreira in the 72nd minute of play. After having played for 83 minutes, Pedro Paulo Bittencourt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pirapiringa EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Paulo Bittencourt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ronaldo Koehler kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pirapiringa EC's zone, Dagoberto Moreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Mendes came out of the goal and Dagoberto Moreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st match minute, Pirapiringa EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Loureiro to maneuver through the defense. Pilares's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sandrinho Rocha in the 94th minute. A nice corner shot did that Sandrinho Rocha got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vicente Mendes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 95 minutes into the match, Pilares's Dagoberto Moreira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vicente Mendes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Pilares eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
