Carlos Fernando Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Naldo de Senna in the 22nd minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Walmir Simões was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Athletico Paranaense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Camutanga 4EVER the free kick. After 23 played minutes Athletico Paranaense got a freekick which was hit by Walmir Simões. Athletico Paranaense's Carlos Fernando Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kauã Paiva in the 28th minute of play. In the 37th match minute, Athletico Paranaense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manoel Berger to maneuver through the defense. Naldo de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Fernando Nascimento having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Marcus Cabral made the kick off in the second half. Enrique Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Cabral in the 54th minute of the match. Carlos Fernando Nascimento stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kauã Paiva's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Marcus Cabral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enrique Cearense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Athletico Paranaense's Ronaldão de Azevedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Enrique Cearense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 70 minutes into the game, Tiago Siqueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Athletico Paranaense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Camutanga 4EVER the free kick. Ronaldão de Azevedo's late challenge caught a Camutanga 4EVER's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronaldão de Azevedo helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Athletico Paranaense's Ronaldão de Azevedo got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Camutanga 4EVER were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Athletico Paranaense to leave the ground with a draw.
