When Belmiro Alves came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the INVICTUS FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Belmiro Alves couldn't finish the play. The supporters of INVICTUS FC booed when Nova Santa Rosa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Guilherme Breckenfeld didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Orlando Ceresso during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Nova Santa Rosa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in INVICTUS FC's zone, Basílio de Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Durval Chaves came out of the goal and Basílio de Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Belmiro Alves kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benjamin Monteiro. That made the score 2-0 in the 39 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Lino Cavalcante made the kick off in the second half. Lino Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Chaves having to interfere. Basílio de Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juninho Andrade in the 70th minute of play forced Nova Santa Rosa FC's goalkeeper Benjamin Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Juninho Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Lino Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Santa Rosa FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lino Cavalcante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durval Chaves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 82nd minute Lino Cavalcante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basílio de Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Chaves having to interfere. If Lino Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Belmiro Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Benjamin Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 93 minutes, Juninho Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. INVICTUS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juninho Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. INVICTUS FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
