Ronaldão de Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Válter Cerezo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Athletico Paranaense. When Perivaldo Donatello came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Jacruaru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Perivaldo Donatello couldn't finish the play. After 77 played minutes Jacruaru got a freekick which was hit by Percy Rodrigues. Germano Furlan, 79 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Jacruaru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
