Benjamin Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandrinho Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Nova Santa Rosa FC's goalkeeper Benjamin Monteiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Perivaldo Donatello. If Sandrinho Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Guilherme Breckenfeld kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Nova Santa Rosa FC's Basílio de Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lino Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lino Cavalcante in the 43rd minute of play forced Jacruaru's goalkeeper Válter Cerezo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nova Santa Rosa FC's Lino Cavalcante got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Sandrinho Freitas made the kick off in the second half. If Perivaldo Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Guilherme Breckenfeld kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Benjamin Monteiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sandrinho Freitas's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Perivaldo Donatello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jacruaru's supporters rose to their feet, but Perivaldo Donatello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benjamin Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Válter Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lino Cavalcante in the 64th minute of play. Basílio de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Válter Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Jacruaru's Válter Cerezo got control of the ball when Basílio de Moraes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benjamin Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandrinho Freitas in the 72nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Nova Santa Rosa FC's Claudinei Bittencourt got a free kick in the 74th minute. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nova Santa Rosa FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Percy Rodrigues was slow to take the kick. During this time Jacruaru's players had a chance to rest. Jacruaru's Percy Rodrigues was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Benjamin Monteiro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Nova Santa Rosa FC's zone, Sandrinho Freitas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamin Monteiro came out of the goal and Sandrinho Freitas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Basílio de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Válter Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th match minute, Jacruaru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilson da Costa to maneuver through the defense.
