The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rodriguinho Amaral the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of S R G protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rodriguinho Amaral had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Zé Augusto Cerezo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perivaldo Donatello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Augusto Cerezo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perivaldo Donatello in the 14th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, S R G's goal looked a bit too open when Perivaldo Donatello came free, but Zé Augusto Cerezo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacruaru's Perivaldo Donatello got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th minute, Sandrinho Freitas made a precise shot to the right of Zé Augusto Cerezo. S R G's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 29 minutes into the game, Jacruaru's Sandrinho Freitas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Augusto Cerezo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After some careless play in the S R G defense, Perivaldo Donatello kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Augusto Cerezo. The S R G fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Augusto Cerezo should have stopped the shot. In the 42nd minute, Cristiano Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

José Vítor Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto Cerezo having to interfere. Juan de Senna hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Zé Augusto Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandrinho Freitas in the 65th minute of play. After 67 minutes S R G's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Percy Rodrigues who took care of the corner kick. Dedé Damião was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Percy Guerra's late challenge caught a Jacruaru's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Percy Guerra helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th minute, Percy Guerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute, Perivaldo Donatello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zé Augusto Cerezo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandrinho Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Gabriel de Castro hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in S R G's zone, Percy Rodrigues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Augusto Cerezo came out of the goal and Percy Rodrigues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
