The supporters of Goiãnia booed when Bigodes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Márcio Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the game, André Luís Senna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Mateus Linhares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mateus Linhares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Paes, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mazinho Quadros in the 31st minute of play forced Goiãnia's goalkeeper Gugu Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mateus Linhares came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Goiãnia's André Luís Senna. But to his dismay, André Luís Senna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After having played for 38 minutes, José Vítor de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goiãnia's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Vítor de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mateus Linhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Luís Senna in the 42nd minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Bigodes FC's goalkeeper Mateus Linhares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gildo Alcântara. In the 45th minute, Gildo Alcântara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mateus Linhares was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. With a little luck, Bigodes FC's Mateus Linhares got control of the ball when José Vítor de Sena tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

In the 81st minute André Luís Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateus Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If André Luís Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mateus Linhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gildo Alcântara in the 86th minute of play.
