Robinho Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laerte Borges in the 25th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sumaré-SP's goalkeeper Robinho Maranhense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Jeremias Paranaense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sumaré-SP's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeremias Paranaense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Pedro Donatello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Fluminense FC defense, Jeremias Paranaense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Pedro Donatello. The Fluminense FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Pedro Donatello should have stopped the shot. If Jeremias Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the match, Sumaré-SP's Guilherme Braga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zé Pedro Donatello narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 74 minutes into the match, Fluminense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fernando Veiga came free, but Zé Pedro Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Pedro Donatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Paranaense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Sumaré-SP players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
