After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Murillo Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jouquarinha's supporters rose to their feet, but Murillo Marinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilson da Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 19th match minute, BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Carlos Martins to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB's Gilson da Rocha got control of the ball when Marcelo Cunha tried to sneak it across the goal line. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jefferson Paraibano made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Olívio Trigo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jouquarinha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB the free kick. Olívio Trigo hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. A nice corner shot did that Cleiton de Brito got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Natanael Veiga quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, Jouquarinha's Natanael Veiga got control of the ball when Vitório Furtado tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 61st minute, Jouquarinha's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jefferson Paraibano fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Natanael Veiga came out of the goal and Vitório Furtado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 65 minutes, Jefferson Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jefferson Paraibano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vitório Furtado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Elano Gomes charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elano Gomes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Elano Gomes hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Murillo Marinho's late challenge caught a BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Murillo Marinho helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Jouquarinha's Murillo Marinho got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Natanael Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jefferson Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jouquarinha's Marcelo Cunha in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the match was over BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Jouquarinha throughout the match.
