BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB's Gilson da Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Luís Senna in the 16th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Goiãnia's Gildo Alcântara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilson da Rocha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Jefferson Paraibano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gugu Teixeira. That made the score 1-0 in the 31 minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Goiãnia's goalkeeper Gugu Teixeira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vitório Furtado. With a couple of smart ball manuevers André Luís Senna in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilson da Rocha saved BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB from getting behind. Gilson da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Luís Senna in the 45th minute of play. José Vítor Leite hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Gildo Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Gilson da Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When José Vítor de Sena came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Goiãnia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Vítor de Sena couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, André Luís Senna put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gilson da Rocha. 68 minutes into the game, Goiãnia's Gildo Alcântara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilson da Rocha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. A hard shot 72 in the game by José Vítor de Sena from a close distance when the talented Gilson da Rocha managed to make a qualified save. BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB's players were relieved. BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB's Gilson da Rocha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Vítor Leite during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 90th minute Luís Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilson da Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Goiãnia's Luís Paes managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Artur Borges in the 95 minute of the game. When the match was over Goiãnia could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than BERTOLDO FUTEBOL CLUB throughout the match.
