Spectators: 6519 (Terracing: 5419, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 100) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Andrézinho de Sena kicked off to start the match. Angelo Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Pedro Donatello having to interfere. Zé Pedro Donatello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murillo Marinho in the 5th minute of play. Aloísio das Neves charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aloísio das Neves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Jouquarinha getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Aloísio das Neves hit a great ball. After 9 minutes, César Arce mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jouquarinha and the Fluminense FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Jouquarinha fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 9th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Natanael Veiga, was totally fooled by Fluminense FC's Augusto Aparecido, who 10 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Zé Pedro Donatello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murillo Marinho in the 16th minute of the match. Andrézinho de Sena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aloísio das Neves hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Andrézinho de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Natanael Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Pedro Donatello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Cunha in the 26th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Fluminense FC's zone, Murillo Marinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Pedro Donatello came out of the goal and Murillo Marinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Natanael Veiga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andrézinho de Sena's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. When Andrézinho de Sena came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Fluminense FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrézinho de Sena couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Cunha in the 34th minute of play forced Fluminense FC's goalkeeper Zé Pedro Donatello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in César Arce almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Fluminense FC's Zé Pedro Donatello did a great save. Natanael Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrézinho de Sena in the 40th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 43 minutes into the game, when Luís Fábio Ramos put in a rough tackle. The referee gave Jouquarinha a penalty, 46 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by César Arce, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Fluminense FC's Zé Pedro Donatello. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Murillo Marinho was the one to do the kick off. Zé Pedro Donatello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murillo Marinho in the 58th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dráusio Teles during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd match minute, Fluminense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dráusio Teles to maneuver through the defense. Marcelo Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcelo Cunha struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Zé Pedro Donatello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jouquarinha. In the 79th of the match, Murillo Marinho tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Zé Pedro Donatello got in the way and made a wonderful save. With a little luck, Fluminense FC's Zé Pedro Donatello got control of the ball when Marcelo Cunha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Murillo Marinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 94 minutes into the match, Jouquarinha's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte Borges came free, but Natanael Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Jouquarinha players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
