The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 15th minute, Geovani Mesquita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Vítor de Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Alberto Siqueira having to interfere. In the 20th match minute, ROS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovani Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. Luís Paes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Carlos Alberto Siqueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th match minute, ROS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Vides to maneuver through the defense. Gugu Teixeira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tales Simões in the 26th minute. The audience was convinced that Luís Paes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Alberto Siqueira was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. The supporters of Goiãnia booed when ROS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Allan Saldanha to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Goiãnia got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Pirani. Luís Paes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. When the match clock showed 63 minutes, the score became 1-3 when André Luís Senna sped through ROS FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carlos Alberto Siqueira. André Luís Senna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Alberto Siqueira having to make a save. André Luís Senna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Alberto Siqueira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cláudio Gerber showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 76 minute of play. Luís Paes struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Carlos Alberto Siqueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goiãnia. In the 86th play minute Gildo Alcântara came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Carlos Alberto Siqueira. 1-5. José Vítor de Sena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Carlos Alberto Siqueira made a huge save. Goiãnia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
