Duarte Tinoco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrézinho de Sena in the 17th minute of the match. Laerte Borges could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Duarte Tinoco made a huge save. Délio Soeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. The corner led BZ FC's Fabinho Dias to fire away a dangerous shot which Zé Pedro Donatello despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. BZ FC's Duarte Tinoco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save BZ FC from getting a goal against them. In the 29thth minute of the game Gilberto de Amaral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fluminense FC's Zé Pedro Donatello was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Duarte Tinoco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andrézinho de Sena's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Andrézinho de Sena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Laerte Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duarte Tinoco having to interfere. BZ FC's Gilberto de Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fluminense FC's Zé Pedro Donatello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredinho Ramalho in the 41st minute of play. BZ FC's Gilberto de Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé Pedro Donatello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredinho Ramalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfredinho Ramalho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Fluminense FC's Laerte Borges sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duarte Tinoco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 54th minute, Andrézinho de Sena ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Duarte Tinoco was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. A collision led to Fluminense FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Dráusio Teles hit a great ball. 69 minutes into the match, Gilberto de Amaral notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Fluminense FC's Zé Pedro Donatello. Zé Pedro Donatello was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Adriano Nóbrega fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BZ FC's protests and gave Adriano Nóbrega a yellow card for diving instead. Adriano Nóbrega kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Duarte Tinoco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laerte Borges in the 74th minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, BZ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andrézinho de Sena came free, but Duarte Tinoco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Borges in the 79th minute of play forced BZ FC's goalkeeper Duarte Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in BZ FC's zone, Laerte Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duarte Tinoco came out of the goal and Laerte Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfredinho Ramalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Alfredinho Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Gilberto de Amaral took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Zé Pedro Donatello to make any attempt to save it. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. BZ FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
