Rondinha's supporters rose to their feet, but Richard Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Magno Mello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Richard Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Magno Mello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Richard Lima blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Magno Mello having to make a save. Dudu Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Magno Mello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leandro Donatello hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. A collision led to Pirracao EC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Fabrício Carioca hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute, Richard Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Dudu Ferreira fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rondinha's protests and gave Dudu Ferreira a yellow card for diving instead. In the 24th match minute, Rondinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dudu Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the game, Afonsinho Bertassi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rondinha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pirracao EC the free kick. Afonsinho Bertassi hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nildo Severo in the 34th minute of play forced Pirracao EC's goalkeeper Magno Mello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Pirracao EC's zone, Célio Queiroz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Magno Mello came out of the goal and Célio Queiroz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute, Richard Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Dedé Cearense made the kick off in the second half. Nildo Severo hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Eurico Cabral took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Manuel Simões. Rondinha's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Pirracao EC's Magno Mello proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Pirracao EC from getting a goal against them. 58 minutes into the match, Pirracao EC's goalkeeper Magno Mello had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Richard Lima. Dudu Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Magno Mello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball had pretty good speed, but Magno Mello firmly grabbed it by the left post. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pirracao EC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Afonsinho Bertassi was slow to take the kick. During this time Rondinha's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Pirracao EC's goalie and right to Célio Queiroz. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Pirracao EC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Rondinha's Dudu Ferreira got his second yellow card of the match in the 69th minute. The referee ordered Dudu Ferreira off the ground. Dudu Ferreira hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pirracao EC's zone, Richard Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Magno Mello came out of the goal and Richard Lima tried to chip the ball over his head.
