The referee ignored Tupiniquins's protests and gave Olavo Castro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ariba Corre booed when Tupiniquins was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olavo Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiaguinho Duarte in the 27th minute of play forced Tupiniquins's goalkeeper Franklin Mineiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ariba Corre's Danilo Silva managed to work through Tupiniquins's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Danilo Silva dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Ariba Corre's Tiaguinho Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vinícius Porto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto da Rocha in the 35th minute of play. Conrado Zonta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinícius Porto having to interfere. Vinícius Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto da Rocha in the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Conrado Zonta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tiaguinho Duarte stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Conrado Zonta charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Conrado Zonta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Tupiniquins's Conrado Zonta got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Ariba Corre's Tiaguinho Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Danilo Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Franklin Mineiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 57 minutes, Conrado Zonta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tupiniquins's supporters crossed their fingers, but Conrado Zonta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58th match minute, Ariba Corre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. Vinícius Porto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Conrado Zonta's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. 65 minutes into the match, Ariba Corre's Tiaguinho Duarte sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Franklin Mineiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carlos Alberto da Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinícius Porto having to interfere. A collision led to Ariba Corre getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Marco Ferreira hit a great ball. Vinícius Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conrado Zonta in the 69th minute of the match. In the 70thth minute of the game Conrado Zonta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ariba Corre's Vinícius Porto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vinícius Porto came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Tupiniquins's Carlos Alberto da Rocha. But to his dismay, Carlos Alberto da Rocha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. If Conrado Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vinícius Porto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Carlos Alberto da Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinícius Porto having to interfere.
