If Vicente Cearense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulinho Paes in the 21st minute of play forced Laranjal's goalkeeper Oséas Pimenta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulinho Paes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 36th minute Rômulo Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oséas Pimenta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulinho Paes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulinho Paes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oséas Pimenta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Longarai F.C.'s Cláudio Porto got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alex de Lara in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Orlando Souza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Longarai F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Longarai F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
