But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eulalio Peio couldn't finish the play. Mariano Admon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Netto got free with Angelo Ongile in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aparecidense AA's Gernando Falcão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Admon in the 14th minute of play. Wágner de Lara hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the game, Lukáš Modrić cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gernando Falcão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lukáš Modrić kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. A collision led to Aparecidense AA getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Laerte Novaes hit a great ball. In the 25th minute of the match Lukáš Modrić shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gernando Falcão showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 27th minute, Wágner Alves made a precise shot to the right of Gernando Falcão. Aparecidense AA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 30thth minute of the game Mariano Admon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aparecidense AA's Gernando Falcão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Mariano Admon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gernando Falcão. Aparecidense AA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Admon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Mariano Admon made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th play minute Lukáš Modrić came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gernando Falcão. 0-6. In the 58th minute, RIBEIRÃO FC's Lukáš Modrić ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gernando Falcão. Gernando Falcão yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. Lukáš Modrić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Gernando Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lukáš Modrić got free with Gernando Falcão in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 70 minutes into the match, Aparecidense AA's goal looked a bit too open when Lukáš Modrić came free, but Gernando Falcão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute Lukáš Modrić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gernando Falcão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Lukáš Modrić kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gernando Falcão. That made the score 0-8 in the 78 minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Aparecidense AA's goalkeeper Gernando Falcão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Admon. Mariano Admons short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Gernando Falcão to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gernando Falcão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Admon in the 89th minute. With a little luck, Aparecidense AA's Gernando Falcão got control of the ball when Lukáš Modrić tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eulalio Peio in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gernando Falcão saved Aparecidense AA from getting behind. Angelo Ongile made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Netto in the 96th minute of play. RIBEIRÃO FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
