Spectators: 7218 (Terracing: 5415, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) Celso Queirós made the kick off and thus started the match. When Franklin Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Financial MK's protests and gave Franklin Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. 5 minutes into the game, one of Financial MK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Clemente Simão had in the 7thth minute some difficulties stopping Horácio Velloso's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo Brodel in the 10th minute of play forced Financial MK's goalkeeper Clemente Simão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clemente Simão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dalmo Brodel's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. A collision led to Financial MK getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Adriano Mandrak hit a great ball. Júlio Lima might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clemente Simão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Júlio Lima ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 26 minutes, Celso Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Financial MK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celso Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celso Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Clemente Simão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júlio Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Celso Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Financial MK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celso Queirós couldn't finish the play. Celso Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Celso Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Financial MK's supporters rose to their feet, but Celso Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arlindo Nascimento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Júlio Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clemente Simão having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dalmo Brodel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, PODEROSO LEAO's goal looked a bit too open when José Carlos Bueno came free, but Arlindo Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Financial MK's Clemente Simão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Financial MK from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Dalmo Brodel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Clemente Simão. That made the score 0-1 in the 59 minute of play. If Dalmo Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Financial MK getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Adriano Mandrak hit a great ball. In the 67th minute, Júlio Lima fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Clemente Simão, passed just outside the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Financial MK's zone, Dalmo Brodel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clemente Simão came out of the goal and Dalmo Brodel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dalmo Brodel in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clemente Simão saved Financial MK from getting behind. In the 79th minute, Fabinho Meira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júlio Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arlindo Nascimento came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Financial MK's Tião Magalhães. But to his dismay, Tião Magalhães quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Hugo Prestes kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Clemente Simão made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Júlio Lima sent off a good shot on target. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
