Frédson Tróia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duda Romero in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Maranhense in the 10th minute of play forced BAÚ DA MORTE's goalkeeper Frédson Tróia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19thth minute of the game José Carlos Moreno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but NIP F.C's Carlos Fernando Furlan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carlos Fernando Furlan was a little too slow when Rômulo Aguiar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 1-0. Percy Pernambucano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frédson Tróia having to interfere. In the 31st minute NIP F.C were awarded a corner. Romário Maranhense went to the cornerflag to take it. The audience was convinced that Duda Romero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frédson Tróia was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. With a left leg Frédson Tróia saved BAÚ DA MORTE from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Carlos Moreno to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rômulo Aguiar in the 54th minute of play forced NIP F.C's goalkeeper Carlos Fernando Furlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Duda Romero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Frédson Tróia having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Duda Romero in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frédson Tróia saved BAÚ DA MORTE from getting behind. After 63 played minutes NIP F.C got a freekick which was hit by Nildo das Neves. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Duda Romero in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frédson Tróia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. BAÚ DA MORTE's Frédson Tróia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save BAÚ DA MORTE from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Duda Romero in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frédson Tróia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 74 minutes into the match, BAÚ DA MORTE's goal looked a bit too open when Duda Romero came free, but Frédson Tróia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, José Carlos Moreno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. BAÚ DA MORTE's defense didn't have a chance, in the 77th minute, when Carlos Perez scored to the left of an out of position Frédson Tróia, making the score, 1-1. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Duda Romero took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Frédson Tróia to make any attempt to save it. Duda Romero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in BAÚ DA MORTE's zone, Romário Maranhense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frédson Tróia came out of the goal and Romário Maranhense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of NIP F.C booed when BAÚ DA MORTE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Carlos Moreno didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Duda Romero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frédson Tróia was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. The BAÚ DA MORTE fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. NIP F.C were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
