The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Gladiador Verde d uberaba's Elivélton Teles got a free kick in the 3rd minute. The supporters of RAFA JUNIORS booed when Gladiador Verde d uberaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Naldo Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. 10 minutes into the game, Elivélton Teles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gladiador Verde d uberaba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RAFA JUNIORS the free kick. After 9 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gladiador Verde d uberaba! Rodrigo Koehler hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Dé da Cunha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivo Xavier might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mauro Senna. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivo Xavier ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ivo Xavier in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mauro Senna saved Gladiador Verde d uberaba from getting behind. Ruy de Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dé da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute, João Vítor Terra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th match minute, Gladiador Verde d uberaba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lúcio Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. Gladiador Verde d uberaba's Mauro Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Vítor Terra in the 47th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Dé da Cunha made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match Filipe Mangueira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mauro Senna showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Marcel Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivo Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the game, Matheus Macedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RAFA JUNIORS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gladiador Verde d uberaba the free kick. In the 67th minute, Matheus Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mauro Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Xavier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute Ivo Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dé da Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Ruy de Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivo Xavier blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mauro Senna having to make a save. Dé da Cunha might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruy de Sena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dé da Cunha ran back to his position shaking his head. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
