Spectators: 7232 (Terracing: 5426, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nelson Rodrigues took the kick off in the first half of the match. Edvaldo Sampaio came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Bocapaulista's Edmílson Diniz. But to his dismay, Edmílson Diniz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The supporters of Bocapaulista booed when C.A.Paulista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelson Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomás de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Edvaldo Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cacá Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelson Rodrigues in the 18th minute of play. In the 23rdth minute of the game Pedro Augusto Travassos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bocapaulista's Cacá Andrade was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cacá Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willian Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomás de Moraes got free with Edvaldo Sampaio in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Geovânio Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute of the match, Tomás de Moraes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edvaldo Sampaio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cacá Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson Rodrigues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Willian Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cacá Andrade having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geovânio Castro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bocapaulista's Tomás de Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A.Paulista's goalkeeper Edvaldo Sampaio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edvaldo Sampaio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás de Moraes in the 65th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Betão Baptista had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Pedro Augusto Travassos fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A.Paulista's protests and gave Pedro Augusto Travassos a yellow card for diving instead. Nelson Rodrigues struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Cacá Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A.Paulista. Cacá Andrade made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Willian Rocha sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, C.A.Paulista's Cacá Andrade threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nelson Rodrigues, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 91st minute Tomás de Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Geovânio Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bocapaulista were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of C.A.Paulista for a fine match.
