Andrézinho Cearense started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Tupandi's goalkeeper Belmiro Proença had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmundo Rezende. Juvenal de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandro Pinheiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edmundo Rezende kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Tranqueira FC's zone, Sandro Pinheiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juvenal de Amaral came out of the goal and Sandro Pinheiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cássio Branco kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Maicon Botelho was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 10th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Cássio Castro struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Belmiro Proença didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tranqueira FC. Tupandi's Belmiro Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Castro in the 16th minute of play. Diamantino Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Belmiro Proença having to interfere. If Sandro Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Andrézinho Cearense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juvenal de Amaral was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Belmiro Proença showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Castro in the 29th minute of the match. Andrézinho Cearense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diamantino Sá struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Álvaro Matos's late challenge caught a Tranqueira FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Álvaro Matos helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Tupandi's Álvaro Matos got a free kick in the 48th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cássio Castro made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Andrézinho Cearense kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Juvenal de Amaral. That made the score 0-1 in the 54 minute of play. Belmiro Proença made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Castro in the 58th minute of play. Andrézinho Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Juvenal de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmundo Rezende kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sandro Pinheiro got free with Juvenal de Amaral in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tupandi's Sandro Pinheiro managed to work through Tranqueira FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Sandro Pinheiro dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in.
