After 17 minutes, Pedro Augusto Furtado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bocapaulista and the Tupandi players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Tomás de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geovânio Castro to make the kick off. Cacá Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrézinho Cearense, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Sandro Pinheiro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Cacá Andrade when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Pedro Augusto Furtado kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Cacá Andrade was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Andrézinho Cearense showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 85 minute of play. A collision led to Tupandi getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Cássio Branco hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Tupandi's zone, Tomás de Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Belmiro Proença came out of the goal and Tomás de Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Bocapaulista fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Tupandi were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
