Mathias Mesquita came out of the goal and Dorival Secco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 19th minute João Vítor Schmidt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Mesquita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hernani Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Alexsandro Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Dorival Secco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A very good chance. After having played for 48 minutes, Dorival Secco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tayio Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dorival Secco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Fabiano Capixaba to make the kick off. When Olívio Salles fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tayio Esporte Clube's protests and gave Olívio Salles a yellow card for diving instead. If João Vítor Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mathias Mesquita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Vítor Schmidt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Tayio Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Olívio Salles hit a great ball. Hernani Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Tayio Esporte Clube's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
