Rubros's Magno Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Braga in the 23rd minute of play. Giovanni Linares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís de Barros in the 29th minute. Sandro Godoi's late challenge caught a Rubros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Magno Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emílio Mattos, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Rubros's zone, Válter Pimenta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Magno Brito came out of the goal and Válter Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emílio Mattos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Magno Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abelardo Sanches got free with Magno Brito in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 68th minute, Emílio Mattos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Magno Brito. The goal made the score 2-3. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Magno Brito successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 79th minute, Laércio Moraes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Giovanni Linares was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. Jano Chaves took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Magno Brito. Magno Brito dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-4. Magno Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emílio Mattos in the 93rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Rubros's zone, Jano Chaves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Magno Brito came out of the goal and Jano Chaves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
