Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Dorizonense booed when Caatiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joélson Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adilson Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Giovanni Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ronaldão Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jano Chaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 minutes, Abelardo Sanches mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dorizonense and the Caatiba players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th minute, Abelardo Sanches hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Beto Eger received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Giovanni Linares came out and tried to block the shot, but Beto Eger slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 20th minute. After 25 minutes of play, Dorizonense's Raúl Braga made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ronaldão Pinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Raúl Braga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronaldão Pinho having to make a save. Giovanni Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beto Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giovanni Linares made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Adilson Prado sent off a good shot on target. When Raúl Braga came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Dorizonense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raúl Braga couldn't finish the play. Raúl Braga took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronaldão Pinho. Ronaldão Pinho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Ronaldão Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl Braga in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raúl Braga to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes Caatiba's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emílio Mattos who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Emílio Mattos almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Caatiba's Ronaldão Pinho did a great save. Emílio Mattos shot a long shot in the 53rd minute and a light blocked Ronaldão Pinho hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-3. Giovanni Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adilson Prado in the 58th minute of play. In the 64th minute Beto Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanni Linares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giovanni Linares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beto Eger in the 68th minute of the match. Ronaldão Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válter Pimenta in the 76th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Dorizonense's goal looked a bit too open when Beto Eger came free, but Giovanni Linares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adilson Prado in the 81st minute of play forced Dorizonense's goalkeeper Giovanni Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raúl Braga got free with Ronaldão Pinho in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Giovanni Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adilson Prado, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Giovanni Linares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Beto Eger went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Dorizonense eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
