Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Délio Magalhães in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victor Romero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Délio Magalhães put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Victor Romero. Abel Maia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victor Romero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Abel Maia scored 0-2 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Victor Romero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Délio Magalhães in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Victor Romero saved Estrela Vermelha Potiguar from getting behind. 27 minutes into the game, Sandrinho Meirelles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Victor Romero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Wanderson Donatello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Medonho F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Wanderson Donatello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victor Romero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Délio Magalhães in the 39th minute of play forced Estrela Vermelha Potiguar's goalkeeper Victor Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victor Romero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Délio Magalhães's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Virgílio Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Abel Maia missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 46 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Victor Romero right hand side. 48 minutes into the game, Afonsinho de Moraes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estrela Vermelha Potiguar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Medonho F.C the free kick. Estrela Vermelha Potiguar's Victor Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilson Velloso in the 49th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Giovanni Sanches to strike the kick off in the second half. The tension between the Medonho F.C and the Estrela Vermelha Potiguar players grew even worse after the yellow card. Celsinho Valle placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! 82 minutes into the match, Medonho F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Giovanni Sanches came free, but Fabiano Nóbrega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd minute Rafa Palmeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano Nóbrega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th match minute, Medonho F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilian Salgado to maneuver through the defense. Remo Varela hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. When Abel Maia came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Medonho F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Maia couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Medonho F.C could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Estrela Vermelha Potiguar throughout the match.
