Zeca Valadares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maurício Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeca Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 23rd minute Sidney Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Fernando Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giovani Leal during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 26th minute, Giovani Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute Tarcisio Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurício Trigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute, Fernandão de Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 31 minutes, Tarcisio Catarinense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nacional FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tarcisio Catarinense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38th minute, Sidney Alcântara fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Carlos Fernando Cabral, passed just outside the right post. Carlos Fernando Cabral came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Bagui Doido's Aloísio Mendes. But to his dismay, Aloísio Mendes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Tarcisio Catarinense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After 53 played minutes Bagui Doido got a freekick which was hit by Fernandão de Lara. After recieving a nice pass, Nacional FC's Luiz Recife tried to score from far away in the 54th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. A collision led to Bagui Doido getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Fernandão de Lara hit a great ball. Zeca Valadares kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Aloísio Mendes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Fernando Cabral having to make a save. 67 minutes into the game, Narciso Silva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nacional FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bagui Doido the free kick. Erasmo Sabóia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carlos Fernando Cabral. Nacional FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tarcisio Catarinense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Maurício Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 91 in the game by Zeca Valadares from a close distance when the talented Maurício Trigo managed to make a qualified save. Bagui Doido's players were relieved. If Tarcisio Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Bagui Doido players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
