Spectators: 6669 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1669, VIP seats: 0) Rubros's Luís de Barros started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Rubros's zone, Basílio Breckenfeld stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Magno Brito came out of the goal and Basílio Breckenfeld tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lucas Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Magno Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anderson Pinheiro came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Rubros's Luís de Barros. But to his dismay, Luís de Barros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 23rd minute, Tarrafas's Basílio Breckenfeld ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Magno Brito. Magno Brito yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. In the 27th minute, Afonsinho Cabral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Rubros's Kléber Tinoco got a free kick in the 29th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Basílio Breckenfeld in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Magno Brito saved Rubros from getting behind. Basílio Breckenfeld received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Magno Brito came out and tried to block the shot, but Basílio Breckenfeld slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 39th minute. Magno Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Breckenfeld, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Laércio Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rubros's supporters rose to their feet, but Laércio Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anderson Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Rubros's Magno Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basílio Breckenfeld in the 57th minute of play. After having played for 58 minutes, Lucas Guerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tarrafas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Guerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luís de Barros might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anderson Pinheiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís de Barros ran back to his position shaking his head. Anderson Pinheiro was a little too slow when Luís de Barros got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 2-2. In the 77th minute Basílio Breckenfeld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magno Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Rubros's Luís de Barros slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Anderson Pinheiro. That made the score 2-3 after 82 minutes of play. After 88 played minutes Rubros got a freekick which was hit by Kléber Tinoco. If Laércio Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
